Merit and aggregate calculator
Enter your marks and the weight of each part from your admission or job notice. You get your aggregate.
Every notice sets its own weights. Type the ones from your notice. Nothing is assumed.
Your aggregate
How it works
- For each part: marks obtained ÷ total marks × weight.
- The aggregate is the sum of all parts. With weights adding up to 100, the aggregate is out of 100.
- Example: Matric 900 out of 1,100 at 10%, Intermediate 800 out of 1,100 at 40%, and an entry test 70 out of 100 at 50% give an aggregate of 72.27.

Quick questions
How is an aggregate worked out?
Each part (for example Matric, Intermediate and an entry test) is scored as a fraction of its own total marks. Each fraction is multiplied by that part’s weight, and the results are added up.
What weights should I use?
Use the weights printed in the admission or job notice you are applying to. Every university and department sets its own, so this calculator does not assume any.
Do the weights have to add up to 100?
Yes, in the usual case. If yours add up to something else, the calculator warns you, because the aggregate is then out of that weight total and not out of 100.
Is my data saved?
No. Everything is worked out in your browser. Nothing you type is sent to us.
