- Only the candidates named in the notice must send documents, within 3 to 5 days of the notice date
- Email PDF files of up to 1 MB each to the address in your notice; hard copies by post are not accepted
- Being asked does not guarantee an interview call: FPSC calls the top merit candidates, 3 or 5 per post
What the notice is
FPSC publishes it on its Results page, under Documents Required. It is headed “preliminary scrutiny of documents” or “preliminary assessment”, and it lists candidates by roll number and name, with their merit number, domicile and chosen interview centre.
By 4 Nov 2026 FPSC had published one for 10 cases of Ad 3/2026. The notices say FPSC asked for documents from more candidates than there are posts (in some cases double the number required, in others the top merit candidates, to keep the required ratio) so that it can check eligibility before shortlisting.

Who has to send documents
Only the candidates named in the notice. If your roll number is not on it, you do not need to send anything for that notice. Open the notice for your case (every case page here links to it) and look for your roll number and name.
TipThe notices name candidates, so we link to FPSC’s own notice and do not copy the names.
What to send
This is the list printed on the notices we read. The list is printed on your own notice and can differ by post, so follow the one on yours.
- CNIC
- Matriculation or secondary school certificate
- Degree and detailed marks sheet (DMC) of the required qualification
- Certificates of post-qualification experience, with job descriptions, in the format of Annex-3
- Self-domicile certificate
- Departmental permission certificate (DPC) or NOC in the format of Annex-6, if you work for the government
How to send it
- Find the email address printed in your notice. It differs by case, so do not use the address from another case’s notice.
- Scan each document clearly and save it as a PDF. FPSC says documents must be sent in PDF format only.
- Keep each file to 1 MB or less. The notice says the size of each file must not be more than 1 MB.
- Send everything by email. The notice says hard copies sent by post will not be accepted.
- Send it within the days the notice gives: we saw 3 days on some notices and 5 days on others.
TipThe notice does not say whether the days count from the date printed on it or from the day you see it. Treat the notice date as day one and send early. Putting your case number and roll number in the email subject is our suggestion, not an FPSC rule.
What happens after you send
- Eligibility checkFPSC checks your documents against the post’s rules and the conditions in the ad.
- Preliminary shortlistFPSC publishes a notice naming the candidates it has preliminarily shortlisted, who will be called for physical verification of documents and the interview when FPSC schedules them.
- Physical verificationShortlisted candidates bring original documents and two sets of attested photocopies one day before the interview (FPSC General Instructions, paragraph 8).
- InterviewFPSC calls the top merit candidates whose documents are in order. The interview gives no right to selection (General Instructions, paragraph 10).
- Final resultFPSC recommends the selected candidates (Results, Nominations).
If your candidature is rejected
FPSC’s General Instructions list the grounds on which it rejects a candidature, such as missing proof of qualification, experience, age or domicile, or no departmental permission for a government servant. A rejected candidate can file a representation and ask to be heard.
